I can't do Hotshots / Rampages / Time Trials... :\

So these always are hell, and it seems like there is only ONE very purposeful, precise way to complete them (if they don't glitch, or sometimes only if they do glitch)...

I'm just sick of it...

I don't want to be another person complaining about the game, I really don't.

I want to get to 5k EGO, eventually, because I do like this game and I don't see myself uninstalling until long after the show is over.

But I don't want to have to try each of these missions multiple times only to google the strategy and try some more until I get it. Every one I've tried so far has been ridiculous.

Does it get any better?

If not have people been asking for them to reduce the requirement for pursuits to a Bronze reward or somehow just make them easier to deal with? I don't want to spend weeks on this part of the game that I don't enjoy. This SOLO, unusually difficult content that seems to come down to doing everything perfectly, not wasting any ammo, not wasting any time, not letting your multiplier fall... I would just rather be at an arkfall with people.

I think these should have been group survival missions, even the racing ones, put us in a cerberus and have waves of hellbugs chasing us, you only win if you survive, so the driver and gunner are both important.

I'm just not enjoying myself with these, even a little bit, and I'm probably going to give up on them again.

Honestly they aren't all that difficult to complete. On PS3 I have gotten gold on all of them and they are harder to deal with on PS3 because of the server memory leak, but not impossible. My little ego 850 PC character has gotten gold on half of the hotshots and rampages and gold on all of the time trials.

The key to gold on the time trials is to get runners up to level 10 before you attempt them. Once you get runners up to 10 gold is pretty much guaranteed. Also don't use boost while in the air it doesn't help your times. Boost while turning for tighter cornering. The first attempt at each time trial should be considered as a recon run. Get to know the course and clear emergencies that are blocking the course. If you are on PS3 and you have a major oops moment. End the race and head back to the start location. Don't attempt to retry because it causes more issues with arches not spawning/counting and the four wheeler not spawning before the time trial begins(dang memory leak and all).

Rampages are equally easy to get at least silver on which is all you need for the pursuits. Weaker enemies are there to maintain the multiplier. So try to save some of the small fries to pop to maintain the multiplier. For instance stop beating on a big guy and pop a weaker enemy to keep the multiplier then get back on the bigger guy you were working on. If you do that you will not have any problems getting rampages done.

Hotshots aren't really all that hard to get the required silver on either. The only one that I really had any problems with on PS3 was Reservoir Chickens. Once I figured out avoid shooting the ranchers and to not go nuts when the large group of chickens spawns it wasn't difficult to get at least silver on. Dam Defence once you figure out how much you need to lead the bugs its easy. On the sniper hotshots headshots are your friend. Keep in mind you may need to adjust sensitivity for more precise aim. It may seem a little slower than you might like but will help for getting headshots.

When you get overly flustered take a break from them and head over to Kinship Plaza and melee some mutants(conflict site) without a charge blade equipped. Attempting to complete the conflict site with melee only is a fun distraction to try and take your mind off of in game problems. Give it a shot and good luck on getting those Hotshots, Rampages and Time Trials done.

I had just done Reservoir Chickens something like 6 times, finally got it and it glitched allowing me to use my AR.

Then I tried Rampage: Hellbug Extermination many many times, finally thought I might get it and-... The last two skitterlings in one of the waves became invincible... I don't have the patience for this stuff.

That bug has returned yet again I see. It may help to relog before attempting to do them in an effort to reduce glitches. Seems to help for getting into major arkbreaks so it may help with these as well. A pain in the rear to have to need to do it but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Something I've noticed about the time trials... that silly buggy they give you handles worse than the car. It does not handle at all how it usually does.

The rampages are all bugged... once you figure out how they're bugged you can get your gold while laughing (I missed getting the third spot on the shotgun/mutant one by 3200 points today).

the hotshots/ rampages though annoying at times aren't that bad. I beat them all with a little patience. If you need help on a specific one I can give some pointers for perk setup as this seems to help the most.

Some hotshots are more tougher than others the only hotshot I have trouble with is getting silver on sharpshooter saviour at chronkite even though the raiders are getting hit in the chest the shots phase through them also noticed that they tend to either disappear or stand outside the sniper rifle range and it's the last task i need to finish in order to complete all Sausalito pursuits.

Back when I knocked out all of the pursuits relating to hotshot and rampages, I found that it was usually less a matter of "knowing the trick" (though Reservoir Chickens surely was), but often a matter of PERK loadout, especially when dealing with any that have the slightest thing to do with sniper rifles or extremely limited ammunition.

I agree that they are annoying, and it should be a matter of skill rather than perk loadout, but they ARE all doable.

Had this too, on both, the Hellbug health is gone and you cannot kill them but they can kill you...


I've had Time trials where arches don't register you go through them, timers at the beginnings doesn't work and sometimes the arches don't even appear.., i've had hotshots where enemies completely disappear and don't fire back...

The chicken hotshot is easy with the bug, equip a clustershot before going in, when it bugs (and it will) go to town on those chicken scum...

i got gold there when i had Crash Boomer equipped - the game suddenly allowed me to fire 1 or 2 nades before counting my final score, so i skyrocketed into #1.
